Comcast has 2 different phone services.
1. Digital Phone. This is what I have. Power source is supplied in the
same manner as Verizon. Cable comes from the pole to the outside
junction box. The line was very much clearer than Verizon. Have not had
any problems.

2. Digital Voice - This is VOIP using the cable modem as the in-house
equipment. The VOIP is delivered to Comcast's head-end where it ties
into the phone network unlike other VOIP systems where the Internet is
used. The Arris cable modems have 2 internal rechargable battery slots
with one battery supplied.
