Sorry for the top post, but I am using the digest. I have one of these
devices and it works fine. The trick is to NOT use the HPOJ stuff and, if
SuSE has it, us HPLIP. It drove me INSANE when I first got the printer and
I had to track it down. (then using Mandrake) Now using Kubuntu, it "Just
Worked" (tm)

If SuSE doesn't have HPLIP as part of its printing system, you will have
to get it from:

http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/

You will need CUPS for it to work.

I just want to add that this printer is using a USB interface, and Dan has
another USB printer.

While I can't think of a solution right now as my brain is in C++ mode, it
might be solved by writing some udev rules.
