Google vs pair for domain hosting?

I currently use pair.com to host my domain name and have been very happy
with their service. I do get a ton of spam, but I happen to be a rather
patient person and simply opt to delete such messages. No matter what
level of spam tweaking I do, it still comes in.

I also have a gmail account, and the spam filtering on gmail is
tremendous! I do a lot of Usenet posting from Google, and don't think
I've received any spam from doing so.

For those who use Google's web hosting or have heard stories of people who
have done so, what is the general consensus? How about details of
good/bad experiences?

Although my pair account is paid through the next five years, I'd be
willing to take a shot at this beta if enough people say enough good
things about it.

I am on pair's $10/month plan. Beta is free, of course, and it would be
interesting to see what happens when costs come into play with respect to
what I pay now.

About email - for those who have switched, what mechanism/method does
google employ/use to transfer one's emails to their system once the domain
is transferred?

Thanks for any insight/feedback.

Scott
