I have a TREO650.. It syncs using /dev/ttyUSB1
usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 10
usbcore: registered new driver usbserial
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for

drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial Driver core v2.0
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for
Handspring Visor / Palm OS drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial
support registered for Sony Clie 3.5 drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c:
USB Serial support registered for Sony Clie 5.0 visor 2-1:1.0:
Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected usb 2-1: Handspring
Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 usb 2-1: Handspring

I can get frustrating.

This is a kernel patch that was recommended. I subsequently found that
this was not necessary, but you may want to adapt it to your TX.

#define PALM_TREO650_ID 0x0061

to /usr/src/linux-2.6.9/drivers/usb/serial/visor.h and adding

{ USB_DEVICE(PALM_VENDOR_ID, PALM_TREO650_ID),
.driver_info = (kernel_ulong_t)&palm_os_4_probe },

to the id_table[] structure (yes, palm_os_4), and

{ USB_DEVICE(PALM_VENDOR_ID, PALM_TREO650_ID) },

to the id_table_combined[] structure in visor.c (in the same
directory). (You also have to configure the kernel to compile the visor
module, under USB serial drivers.)
