Debian or Ubuntu?

The latest versions of Debian and Ubuntu are out now. Ubuntu takes 1 CD, and
Debian takes 3 DVDs. I know Ubuntu is Debian-based.

I've been playing in the Centos/Redhat/Fedora world the past year or two, and am
looking at reworking my system and see what Debian or Ubuntu have to offer.

I used to use Debian regularly from about 2001 - 2005.

Ubuntu is all over the place these days, but we almost never hear about Debian.

What are people's thoughts on the respective distributions? I plan to use it as
my primary home OS on a 64-bit AMD system, though I will likely go with the
32-bit version since some pieces, like flash for Firefox, isn't supported by
Adobe yet under 64-bit (Adobe outright says this).

Thanks for any feedback. If I get enough responses, I'll be glad to summarize.

Scott
