Debian or Ubuntu?

Erm, no.

Debian has:

- a business-card-disc install (~60 MB)
- a standard 1 CD installer (~180 MB)
- the first disc of the Whole Thing has the installer, and
  doesn't require the following discs (~700 MB)
- The Whole Shebang: 3 DVDs, and it still doesn't include the
  non-free archives
- and a live CD to play with.
