Has anyone got experience with opengear (http://opengear.com)? They seem to be
entirely free software - with the software necessary to build new firmware
available from

  http://www.opengearweb.org/

The 48 port device is competitively priced at ($1,500) imo; the 8 port device
is on the expensive side at $500...
