I googled around.  Seems FreeBSD users have complained as well, and
that possibly OpenBSD has not implemented some kernel features that
need to be present in order for the driver to be supported by nvidia.
The thread on freebsdforums makes this pretty clear, even up to recent
posts.  So I guess I am S.O.L.  Damn closed-source binary drivers!!!
