BTW: Problem solved by downloading the appropriate binutils from
Toronto.
 No, I named my source file .C (upper case C), which is one of
the C++ conventions. I personally prefer .cc or .c++. I don't like .cpp
because it implicates the C Preprocessor. C++ is a much more difficult
language to compile and even harder to optimize. A friend of mine calls
it "COBOL by any other name". The code I work with is very highly
templated with a number of levels of inheritance.=20
