Deleting Log files on ubuntu

Actually i was asked to do this

% sysctl -w sunrpc.nfs_debug=32767

to enable full client debugging.. i wasn't sure what that was doing before
:D.

Thats probably why i have those HUGE log files!

Also I read about this tool called logrotate, but when i try to use it i get
a segfault!

i did
%logrotate kern.log
