ODT to text conversion

I'm trying to put together a Linux command-line tool chain to convert OpenOffice.org odt (odf) files to ascii text files while preserving some basic text formatting.

The source files contain simple, one page documents. It would be nice if I could specify a maximum text width so as to have centered and right-justified text space padded to a proper looking position.  Being able to extract text from a header, footer and text frame would be of great benefit as well.

I've looked at odt2txt but it can't handle headers or centered text.

Any ideas?
