Hi,

	I read all of your post, what I meant is exactly what I wrote: try the 
reassembled drive (with changed electronics,etc) in a new enclosure (not the 
old fried one). Since the usb IDE detection is not done by the BIOS, maybe 
the linux drivers can work it out. But from later messages along the thread I 
guess your drive is unrepairable by now...
