Forwarding the following notice, based on the interest expressed in a related thread on this list last week. It is staffed by volunteers from Intel Massachusetts.

=====
PC/TV and Small Electronics Community Recycling Event

Bring down that out-dated PC or aging TV sitting at home. Turn in the cell phones cluttering up your desk drawer. The recycling event makes it easy for you.

The collection event is open to residents, small businesses and other organization in the community providing a simple and easy solution to dispose of items like computers, televisions, printers and other peripherals, copiers, radios, small household appliances and other household devices. Cell phones will be collected and donated to Cell Phones for Soldiers, which provides soldiers on deployment with pre-paid calling cards, and Voices for Violence, which provides services for victims of violence and domestic abuse. A minimum of $10 per vehicle will be requested. All proceeds from the collection event will benefit the United Way of Tri-County.

Collection will be at the Stop 'n Shop plaza at the corner of Technology Drive and Route 85 (Washington Street) in Hudson on Friday, September 19, 12 noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday, September 20, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.

Intel sponsors an annual PC/TV/electronics recycle event in Hudson (next to Marlborough, for those unfamiliar with MetroWest geography). You can drop off as much stuff as you want and it is sent to the appropriate channels for proper recycling. It is free, but they request a donation to benefit the local United Way. If folks are interested, I can forward the details to this list when it is announced next.

So do I. Let's put them in a quiet corner of your house and see if they
can breed a PC.
