Photo Server Software?

In my case it's pretty much just me.   I do like the fact that
I can put ACLs on various photos and directories in order to limit
who can see what.  But most likely it will only be me putting data
up on the server.

So I doubt I'll run into this.  It'll take me YEARS before I have
1000 albums.
