My experience with dimmable CFLs over the last few years is that they
fail in less time then an incandescent.  Given that
they are usually 2-5 times as expensive as regular CFLs there is no
payback on electricity cost.  It's gotten to the point
that I've got a couple of dimmable light switches that I'm going to
replace with regular switches so I can use regular CFLs
instead.
