Yes. While there are a bunch a lawyers in the area that will talk about 
IP law at user group meetings, to make the topic more broadly 
interesting you really need to get a speaker (not necessarily a lawyer) 
who was involved in one of the open source related cases.

Any well known IP cases with participants in the Boston area?
The EFF might be able to supply a speaker or refer us to one.
(A search for "boston" at their site mostly turns up the MIT students' 
hack against the MBTA, and the recent seizure of a BC student's computer 
- neither having string ties to IP law.)
