Upgrade a CVS server to something else?

I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but I have my source code in a CVS
repository.

OK, it is mainly just me, but occasionally, I have other collaborators.
It has been in service on the same ip address for over a decade. The
machines may have changed, but the repository has not.

Seriously, I need an opinion about what to use. I don't particularly
like subversion, I'm used to CVS and if I'm going to upgrade by my
source and my habbits I want to adjust to something better. Subversion's
stated goal was to be better than CVS, and that's a little short sighted
IMHO. I think svn's lack of tagging makes it a deal breaker.

Is git any good?
What about Mercurial? Bazaar?
