This is a little misleading. KeyPassX is a multi-platform project, but 
it is primarily used on Linux (secondarily OS X).

It is an independent clone of KeePass (http://keepass.info/) 
classic/1.x, which is Windows-only.

You're referring to this:

which says that the auto-type feature doesn't work on OS X.

But the auto-type functionality is based on what is found in the Windows 
version. (The Windows version still has some functionality that's 
lacking in KeyPassX. Plugins, profiles for the password generator, and 
better expired password notification.)

The original KeePass project also has a 2.x version built on .NET that 
supposedly runs on Linux under Mono, but I haven't tried it.
