I think that the Atom N450 processor should be good enough for most
things. Some of the early netbooks were celerons. In my case, with the
EeePC I bought at MicroCenter, the video was acceptable, but the network
kept going offline. I'm not sure if that was a Windows 7 issue or a
hardware issue. In any case, I was able to return the unit and get my
money back. However, I am considering getting another one to replace my
laptop. My laptop works fine, but it will not display on MIT's overheads
any longer. I might spring $200 - $250. I do see some HP Minis and other
brands with the Atom N450 on sale (refurbished) for close to $200. Most
likely I would run Linux natively. There is no need for Windows on it.

In any case, I might either go to eCost or MicroCenter. Not sure which
brand yet, whether an HP Mini, Asus EeePC, or Acer Aspire.
