Vagueness and hand waving. Due to fear of the unknown, there is much fear
and panic amongst people who know nothing. And they're rampant on the
Internet, that's for sure.

Nobody can name anything specific in opensolaris that has been hurt by
oracle. No projects are cancelled, no employees laid off, no platforms have
been discontinued ... Everywhere you look, oracle pledges commitment to
solaris, and plans future products based on solaris... Soon enough, the
ignorant panicky people will settle down. Unless something substantial
actually changes someday, which hasn't happened yet.

Software development in opensolaris & solaris is almost entirely done by
sun/oracle employees. They're still working on things now, exactly as they
always have been.
