I've found myself writing a lot of policy documentation lately. I
primarily use Linux, so I use OpenOffice. It's been a little annoying
when I have had to work with people in other departments who are Windows
users. A lot of the time when they send me documents that they created
in Office, I have trouble viewing them with OpenOffice. Quite
frequently I find myself using a terminal server to view their
documents. I have also had issues when I create a document with
OpenOffice (typically as a .DOC) and a Word user tries to view it. Even
though it is simple text in the document, the formatting comes out quite
terrible in Word.
