So if we don't rely on either Wikipedia or the EF:

DRM = Digital Rights Management

MS has given the user the license to use the operating system on one
computer.  They have some software in place to try and make sure that
is exactly what happens.  It sounds like the claim is:

Digital Rights Management != Digital License Management

I think the license management is a subset of rights management.  In
both cases, it is a combination of a contract ("what we promised to do
for each other") and a means to ensure the contract is adhered too
("Please call tech support if you have a problem because this software
thinks you are a cheating snake").  I would get lost in a discussion
of wether we should be talking about my "digital rights" versus MS's
"digital license".  My dad was a lawyer, but I am not.  In either
case, MS has written the code, and I would blindly click "I agree".
