The Polaroid ID division was using OpenSolaris on PCs in the lab and
Solaris on Sparc in production at the various states. Fortunately most
of my work was performed at home on my Alpha. I found one 64-bit issue
the entire code base. Years ago, most Unix vendors did produce
workstations. Sun, HP, Digital all had workstations. The emergence of
Linux on the PC essentially killed the workstations.
