[Discuss] iPhone vs. Android - the backup problem

Oh - This is definitely *not* a full system backup.  I can copy anything in
the filesystem (and without root, just anything within the sdcard).  If I
lost or replaced my phone, I would have all the stuff I care about the most
(photos, music, etc), but I would still need to figure out what apps to
install, what accounts to connect, and what settings I wanted...

I am not aware of anything on either android or iphone that I would call a
"full backup."  I have also been burned by "backing up" the iPad, only to
discover it didn't do jack.

On android, if you have root, you can use titanium backup.  It will backup
all your apps & app configs.  But as far as I know, nothing can backup the
actual android state - layout of your homescreen etc, knowledge of wifi etc,
google/exchange/whatever account usernames & pass, etc.

I only know how to backup apps (requires root) and files from sdcard
(doesn't require root.) on android.
