Radio Shack used to sell bulk tape erasers. They're no longer available
from their web site; no telling whether stores might still have some old
stray stock. The most recent version was stock number 44-233A; there
were also earlier versions. The main addition to the latest version
seems to be automatic thermal cutoff. These things get quite hot;
they're basically big AC-powered electromagnets.

A web search found recommendations for two other models: the Geneva
PF-215 (handheld) and the Geneva PF-250 (tabletop). The latter is quite
expensive unless you find an eBay deal.
