[Discuss] Ubuntu USB Drives appending _ to folder

This is the same behavior you would get if you unplugged the thumb drive
without properly unmounting it, then plugging it back in; the old directory
doesn't get deleted, and then the next time the system tries to mount the
thumb drive, its name is already in use, so it has to come up with a different
name for the new mount point.

Maybe the thumb drive powers down while idle and the usb subsystem loses
track of it, while there's still a process that has the directory open.
