I believe the iPad already has HDMI connectors so who knows what can be
done with that. Quite a bit of information can be pushed through those
apple connectors
http://pinouts.ru/PortableDevices/ipod_pinout.shtml

And what about the Atrix type docks but for tablets? That could add quite
a bit of "Laptop type" usage for users. I believe the EEE Transformer uses
a similar type of "docking" system.Personally I think the next step would
be allowing a mouse to be included in the docking system and then you have
a true "transformer". (I like my mouse)

Additionally I know that Rich and a few people were talking about allowing
the full use of RAM on the tablets was quite battery hungry. If you could
allow it to "expand" based on docked or not you could get a bit more power
similar to a laptops power plans. Just a thought.

"But, there is a generational issue. Older people will not want the newer
technology. So there is more of an evolutionary shift. traditional
desktop and laptop systems will remain for years, but the tablet market
will increase" - About this, my grandmother a few years ago (at 82)
started using a laptop, recently my Aunt was showing her about the iPad.
She decided to get one and loves it. Granted she got a bit of teaching
but the opportunity is out there. (Of course she is probably the exception
to the rule)

With all that said the desktop/power laptop users will still be out there
for super computing needs (gaming, high end design, etc.) Heck I have a
desktop sitting around just in case. Although I find myself using it less
and less.
