Please note, I did not make the offload statement. But I tend to agree 
with you here. A build that might take several hours is probably better 
done on a server. VNC effectively gives you a console appearance. 
Essentially what the OP wants to do is up to him. We've been using VNC 
successfully for a while here, and it is better (IMHO) than Putty/Exceed.
