I don't remember if Seagate is one of the vendors that provides this,
but some drive manufacturers have an online lookup tool where you can
plug in a model and serial number and it'll tell you what warranty
coverage the drive has.

It's within the realm of possibility that Seagate changed their policy
and didn't update the packaging. If the products weren't going to a
retail channel where the boxes wouldn't be seen prior to purchase, they
may not have felt it worth the bother to put correction stickers on them.

If the online tool shows only 1 year, then you've got something to go
back to Tgerdirect with and escalate.

If it shows 2 years, and you have no printed documentation to back that
up, you've then got a different problem if Seagate decides to later
redefine the warranty period. Print out the web page and file it away?
