We are Hiring! Senior Linux Systems Engineering Opportunity with Tremor Video in Boston.

Tremor Video is seeking a full-time Senior Systems Engineer who has broad and deep comfort with Internet technology and has a proven history of delivering superlative service to rapidly growing, distributed enterprises. This individual will be a senior member of a team that is jointly responsible for all aspects of Tremor Video's production systems and network architecture. He/she will work closely with the development, QA, product and technical operations teams to support, build and expand the network architecture. Typical work activities include:

  *   Manage and maintain web servers, java app servers, Hadoop clusters and NoSQL data stores, database servers and networking environments.
  *   Maintain systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting OS, networking and app level operational issues.
  *   Point of contact for Data Center Operations.
  *   Participate in weekly planning sessions with other teams and within the Sys Admin group.
  *   Take part in the weekly on-call rotation.
  *   Support of cloud and VM based systems.
  *   Support of software deployment operations.
Minimum Qualifications:

  *   5+ years' experience in network information systems.
  *   5+ years' experience with Linux systems administration.
  *   3+ years' experience with VMWare administration.
  *   3+ years' experience administering Apache, Tomcat and MySQL.
  *   3 + years' experience with monitoring and trending tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, ntop, Observium, etc...
Preferred Qualification:

  *   Experience with supporting high-load, real-time, 24x7x365 Internet applications.
  *   Experience managing storage devices such as SAN and NAS.
  *   Experience with Network Routing and Switching, in particular with Cisco and Arista hardware.
  *   Experience with Network security including firewalls, intrusion detection (IDS), vulnerability, penetration testing and threat mitigation.
  *   Demonstrable analytical / problem solving skills.
  *   Ability to learn new skills quickly.
  *   Able to work and contribute in a team environment.
  *   Strong verbal and written communication skills
  *   Required to be flexible, detail oriented and organized with the ability to multitask
  *   Able to demonstrate poise under pressure
