This may be going away later this year. Due to construction the parking
lots around that part of campus are being overloaded which is
interfering with the daily occupants of the associated buildings.
Because of this, the MIT parking office is considering plans to ticket
at all times anyone and everyone who does not have a valid permit for
those lots. I am unaware of any plans to provide alternative parking
capacity for east campus visitors.
