Bill Bogstad ========= System administration and support (part-time/consulting) The Computation and Biology research group at MIT, led by Prof. Bonnie Berger (MIT Math and CSAIL), is looking for part-time/consulting assistance in maintaining and managing the research group's computing infrastructure, which comprises five 48-64 core compute servers (one more to come soon), three Nvidia GPU servers (one more to come soon), and three storage nodes providing approx 80TB of storage. Job Description: On a regular basis: a) maintenance and troubleshooting of storage, compute, and GPU servers. b) responding to student and researcher sysadmin-related requests On an occasional basis (1-2 times per year) c) installing a new server and bringing it online. Time Commitment: On a steady-state basis, the expected work is ~10-20 hrs/month. However, there will be some heavy work initially (and occasionally) as new storage and GPU nodes are brought online. Skills required: you should be very comfortable with system administration tasks in an Ubuntu Linux environment, be knowledgeable about NFS-based storage solutions and be familiar with Nvidia GPU setups. Experience working with academic computing setups is a plus but not required.
