A friend bought one of these and found it usable. However, he is
returning it for a replacement, because the micro USB connector became
loose (unclear whether it is the cable connector or the socket, as he
only has one micro USB cable), and the screen came scratched or quickly
got scratched. (You can bet it doesn't come with "Gorilla glass" or
similar toughened glass.)

He said Micro Center was accommodating. Willing to send a replacement,
and throwing in an extra cable and screen protector.

Micro Center also has a 4.-something inch screen "tablet" selling for
$50. More suitable for using as a podcast/music player or WiFi phone.
