Yeah, I'm not paying that to get in either, i don't think i can afford
that to attend the sessions this year, definitely won't pay that to
volunteer in the exhibit hall!

The last time we did a table -- is it already over 10 years ago? I
think it was the Last LinuxWorld in Boston, not a USENIX -- we split a
single free table in the "Community" area with MadDog's GNH LUG.
Since we're all-encompassing L&U, USENIX is even more appropriate :-).

Half of Free is better than Free because we had more folks to tag-team
manning the "booth".

IIRC we got exhibits-only badges for volunteering to be in the
Community area, and I _think_ from attending a couple USENIX run
conferences ... back when I had $TrainingDollar$ to spend ... that
USENIX conferences have the same free Community area concept at the
periphery of the Exhibits floor for non-profit volunteers, as both a
"give back" (and also to aid the documentation of the parent org's
501(c)3 conformance: supporting other non-profits always looks good).
 (A more surplus-ful big-budget non-profits could upgrade to
main-floor because they can, but I wouldn't spend our nest egg on
that.)
