   Large IDE drives will work fine with Linux. With kernels prior to
   about 1.1.47 you will need to run with LBA disabled which may confuse
   DOS if you wish to share the drive. Your boot partition must lie in
   the first 1024 cylinders due to PC BIOS limitations.

   2048*15*63*(512 bytes/sector) = 990904320 bytes

So you drive is 990Meg?  Any IDE drive	 bigger than 5??Meg is one of the
new EIDE or Large-IDE drives.  These drives are not directly supported, 
but the tsx-11 HOWTO should tell you how to do it.
