Hi Eric -- Do you know how your printer was configured in the kernel? If CONFIG_PRINTER=m, then (if your distribution is like Debian) you need to have the lp module listed in /etc/modules, since this file lists the modules that are loaded at boot time. If CONFIG_PRINTER=y, then I don't think I understand how the error message you got is being generated. Good luck, Susan Kleinmann
