The group should have liability insurance for meetings. If the meeting space itself has insurance, then there is no issue, but some companies require outside organizations to carry liability insurance before they will be allowed to hold meetings. The Greater New Hampshire Linux Users Group is unable to meet at Digital because of this. Also, the people who are running the group should have some insurance. Both coverages should be low. The issue is, if someone trips over a power cord, and breaks thier leg, the group and its leaders can be sued. A small group with few, if any, assets probably does not need the insurance. However, the group leaders should consider either a blanket policy or individual coverages. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ Jerry Feldman Digital Unix Development Environment Digital Equipment Corp.
