> How do we get people to use mailers that don't clutter my attachments > directory with crufty little restatements of the message body? > > I believe it's a Netscape artifact. This has been a discussion item in other lists I am on. Netscape 4.0 by default has html turned on so then when sending email, it is sent as an html document. It also likes to send signatures as attachments. Eudora automatically saves attachments. Other mailers like Pegasus and exmh preserve the original format of a multi-part message and give the reader a choice of what to do. In answer to the original question, unless we moderate the list, some people will send attachments. It is probably not worth staying up late to figure it out. -- +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ Jerry Feldman Digital Unix Development Environment Digital Equipment Corp.
