I recently installed an InfoMagic release on a 486 I want to use as a web server. It's a November 1995 release that has the Slackware distribution set using kernel 1.2.13. Going through the install phase when I created the boot and root floppy's, every thing was read off the CD-Rom just fine. In this case a Creative Labs Quad Speed, model CR-574-B. I'm now going back to install the Linux source's because I need to recompile the kernel to have the system recognize my 3Com card (and also my CD-Rom). The problem I'm running into now is that upon bootup Linux does'nt recognize the CD-Rom which I need in order to go back and install the Linux kernel sources. When I run "setup" and try to instll something I get: "Sorry- the CD-Rom could not be found. Please check to make sure that it is mounted beneath /cdrom and try again. (Directory given: /cdrom/slackware)." What can I do? =============================================================================== Vincent Cocco Suffolk University email: vcocco at acad.suffolk.edu Boston, MA 02108 fax: 617-573-8747 ==============================================================================
