I've been lurking the linux newsgroups for sometime and I am greatly looking forward to getting my feet wet with Linux. I have read a few books and a lot of the available information on the Internet, but your InstallFest II seems like a great opportunity to learn about Linux in a hands-on environment around experts. I am particularly interested in having Linux and Windows 95 coexist peacefully, and I hear this is a complicated thing to do (I have purchased System Commander 3.0 and Partition Magic in preparation for this). The computer I would like to install Linux on is a Winbook XP5, for which I found some information on the Linux Laptop Homepage. Apparently, this leads to some complications as well. All these considerations have made me hesitant to install Linux on my own. However, I am a full-time student at Phillips Exeter Academy in nearby Exeter, NH. I was wondering if I could still get help installing Linux on my computer if I arrive there late, because my school holds a half-day of classes on Saturdays, and I might not be able to arrive at your convention until as late as two o'clock or so, unless I can get permission to miss classes or convince the computer science class to come along with me. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Tom Hallgren P.S. If you have any information about your organization or your upcoming event, I would love to see it and pass it on to the computer science classes here at PEA. My address is: Tom Hallgren c/o PEA msc7409 20 Main Street Exeter, NH 03833
