I've just realized that the 20.x versions of emacs have a different way of handling EOL. If the file has each line terminated by CR-LF (yes, I sometimes need to deal with Micky-soft files), the CR doesn't display as ^M as it used to in the 19.x versions. Additional lines terminated by the CR-LF combination. Does anyone know what's going on? Is there an option to turn off this new behavior, and get the old (I sometimes want to know exactly what's going on in my files, and control it), other than using hexl mode? Thanks. *** Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" to discuss-request at blu.org
