If you "only" want an editor, I've been told Emacs and/or XEmacs are a good bet 8-} (although it's actually much more than an editor). Finally, my personal preference is for "joe" :-D but that's more an habit than a definitive choice. I use "vi" when I'm su root. > I'm running Red Hat 5.1 if that is of any importance.
