> How can i get the SCSI BIOS to install with only the CD-ROM in use? The SCSI BIOS is only needed to handle boot drives (0x80, 0x81). Most Adaptec controllers report "BIOS NOT INSTALLED!" when the bus scan found no hard drives. You don't need the BIOS to install to get at your CDROM (or Zip or SyJet or Jaz or whatever). So I haven't solved why you can't use the CDROM but perhaps I've stopped you from staring at the place where the problem ain't. Does the SCSI CDROM show up if you CTRL+A into the SCSI setup and scan the bus? Were you using modules and initrd to install SCSI drivers under Linux and when you boot the IDE drive are the SCSI drivers getting loaded? ccb --- Charles C. Bennett, Jr. Workgroup Technology Corp.
