Hi, I'm installing Oracle 8 on Linux (freely distributed at www.oracle.com). Well, the installation requires certain parameters to be within their specified limits (e.g. SHMMAX, SHMMIN, etc -- shared memory stuff). Since I have not done anything of the sort before, I have a question. Is it necessary for me to edit the include files and change the parameters? Or is there another way of doing it? ... using a utility or something? Thanks. - Rahim - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
