As Linux becomes more popular, it will be used were many users are used to
Windows based software. There is a plethora of excellent windows managers
available, but I would suggest that you might start with an fvwm based
window manager. The reason is that it is familiar to Windows users. 

Some other issues are what applications your Lady currently uses on Windoz.
