Linux friendly computer sales...

I got tired of popping open cases to see what video chip I had, editing
modelines, and all that.

So I bought a desktop from VAResearch. No muss, no fuss. X and all.

My laptop was just the opposite. I'd been told by a local vendor that
another customer had recently bought the same laptop and was happily running
Linux. It was three months, much gnashing of teeth, and a new XFree86
release before I got X working.

So find out from De Vine what makes them think their computers are Linux
friendly. Otherwise, go to HiQ, VAResearch, PromoX, Penguin Computing, or
any of the other vendors that have actually done the install and worked out
all the kinks.
