If your are not implementing NIS (Network Information Services) which is typically a unix thing, then youshould stop running ypbind at boot up. Look in /etc/rc.d/rc2.d for a script called S??ypbind. I'm not running YP at home, so I'm unsure of the exact script name. Then move it to no-S??ypbind.
