> Can anyone recommend any good sources of training/support for > UNIX/Solaris newbies? For user training, the book I used to recommend, Henry McGilton's Intoducing the Unix System, is no longer in print. In recent history, UNIX For Dummies has seemed to do the trick. > Especially setting up and configuring new systems and supporting > existing UNIX networks. If you want some basic system admin training, the UNIX System Administration Handbook by Nemeth, Snyder, Seebass & Hein works well. If you have a 10-20 week time horizon, Northeastern University offers night course in UNIX system administration (www.northeastern.edu/cont-ed/soa - then hunt for UNIX). I don't know if they're still active, but there's a system admin organization called BBLISA (Back Bay Large Installation System Administration) at www.bblisa.org that can probably provide pointers to more resources. ccb --- Charles C.
