Jerry, Thanks for the tip Saturday: I upgraded to 4.6 and the problem disappeared. Speaking of upgrades: has anyone else run the microsoft Lose95 y2k upgrade program? It's as nasty a piece of sleeze as I've ever seen from Redmond, offering (in addition, presumably, to y2k fixes) the chance to convert to a "web enabled" desktop, with a "new" feature that gives "channels" for web "partners" to send you "updates". The word "advertisement" is never mentioned, and they did not say if the "channels" were bidirectional or not. Sigh. If only Gary Kildall hadn't gone flying that day... -- Bill Horne (remove ".nouce" from username to reply. Sorry.) -------------- next part -------------- An embedded message was scrubbed...
