Jerry Callen contributed: Finally, in this day and age, I wholeheartly agree that The Phone Company has the attitude that goes with copper. I prefer the attitude that goes with fiber optics and other 20th century technologies. Huh? What makes you think that's final. Lots of room for flamage ... Myself, I think I'd cast a pox on both their houses, and go with the attitude that built the Internet. It could perhaps be summarized with a parody of the snail-mail system's old motto: "The message must get through." There was also the t-shirt that I saw Vin Cerf flaunting at a conference some time back. It read "IP on everything". Not exactly the attitude of either the phone or cable companies. (Well, maybe it's second meaning IS their attitude. ;-) - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
